Resuscitation and use of an automatic electrocardiogram (defibrillator)
purpose
1. To use automatic defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. promptly
2. To use automatic defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. correctly
Important topics are as follows:
1. Automatic resuscitation and cardiac resuscitation in adults.
2. Helping adults when choking
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automatic cardiac resuscitation in adults
purpose
1. In order to recover life in a timely manner
2. In order to properly revive
3. In order to use the automatic defibrillator. accurately and in a timely manner
define
- Resurrection (heart pump) is the delivery of blood from the heart to the heart and brain. with chest compressions and ventilation
- For victims with adolescence Immediately use adult resuscitation.
- Waking up (responsive) is when the victim pats the shoulder, moves, speaks, blinks, or does any other act indicating he is still awake.
- Using an automatic defibrillator (heart shock machine) is A first aid tool* used to automatically convert an abnormal ECG back to a normal one, giving the victim a higher chance of survival.
Important topics are as follows:
I. I. defibrillation.
The use of an automatic defibrillator (heart shock machine)

Heart pumping (resurrection)
define
Contains
1. Chest compressions push blood from the heart. to feed the brain and the heart itself It's an important part of survival.
2. Ventilation is the act of pushing air into the lungs to allow more air in the blood to supply the brain and heart.
chest compressions
Definition
Chest compression is pressing the area between the nipples or in the middle of the breastbone. of the victims To provide blood pressure to the heart and brain, if pressed lightly, the blood pressure will not be enough to supply the brain and heart. If the hug is slow, the blood pressure will not supply enough blood to the brain and heart.
Therefore, chest compressions Must be fast and strong thus giving victims a chance to recover faster.
Do not worry that the victim will be hurt because of the chest compressions. Victims are unconscious.
Procedure for performing chest compressions
1. Place the victim on a flat and firm surface.
2. Take off your shirt
3. Place the slit of the left hand (the ridge of the hand) on the chest between the nipples or middle of the victim's sternum Then place the palm of your right hand over your left hand.
4. Press directly on the victim's chest with a depth of 2 inches at a speed of 100 times per minute.
5. The rhythm bounces back to make the chest bounce back to its original position every time.
should know
Chest compressions are very tiring. If pressed continuously after 2 minutes, often fatigue.
Therefore, if there is an assistant, the assistant should alternate chest compressions every 2 minutes, the time to switch people should be faster than 10 seconds.
ventilation
define
Ventilation involves pushing air into the lungs to bring more air in the blood to the brain and heart.
It is very important after chest compressions.
If you give a breath and your chest moves, it means that you have successfully breathed.
To be able to breathe, it is necessary to open the airway first. Therefore, there will be steps as follows.
1. Open the airway.
2. Give a breath
opening of the airway
procedure opening of the airway
1. Place your hand on your forehead. Then use the other hand to hold the chin area.
2. Press your head down and lift your chin up.
Important
Do not press or touch the neck area is strictly prohibited. to catch only the chin
breathing
Procedure for breathing
1. Open the airway. Then squeeze both noses by holding the wings of the nose.
2. Give breath by blowing from mouth to mouth.
3. Give 2 total breaths (at least 1 second each).
4. Observe the movement of the chest.
Important
- If the breath does not move the chest, open the airway again. Then slowly let the breath repeat.
- If breathing does not move the chest in 10 seconds, perform chest compressions immediately. Do not attempt to open your airway again. Wait 2 minutes and try again.
respirator use
define
To prevent infection and to spread infection in the workplace Therefore, there should be a respirator mask in the establishment.
The respirator mask is a mask made of a special material, soft and sized to cover the victim's face. There is a one-way opening-closing valve. To prevent infection from the victims, enter the Resurrection Volunteer.
procedure ventilation using a mask
1. Place the mask covering the victim's mouth and nose so that it is close to the victim's face.
2. Press the forehead and lift the victim's chin. by keeping the mask close to the victims
3. Give 2 breaths, 1 second each time.
4. Observe the victim's chest while breathing.
You should know how to put on a mask
1. The pointed side is placed on the nose side.
2. The obtuse side is placed on the chin side.
Using a recovery device
Automatic defibrillation (defibrillator) (AED)
define
When the ECG is malfunctioning An automated defibrillator (AED) with a special processing system performs the analysis. ECG If there are any malfunctions that can be corrected The machine will release an electrical current to restore the ECG. This will make the heart pump most effective.
Therefore, the use of an automatic electrocardiogram (AED) in the first minute can give victims a higher chance of survival.
At present, the device has High accuracy, easy to use, very safe, important, already have Thai language. Therefore, every time you start the machine, there will be a description of the usage in Thai For use in Thailand, it is more convenient, for example, if releasing electricity. There will be a voice saying "Do not touch the victims" for the safety of the volunteers who will help the victims.
There is also a picture showing clearly. The chest patch has a picture clearly showing that Where must be pasted on the victim's area to make it easier to use
Just open the lid, the machine will automatically turn on. To release electricity There will be only one button to press. Prevent confusion from the use of volunteers.
procedure
1. Open the lid of the machine. take off the victim's shirt
2. Place the patch on the victim's chest as instructed.
3. Wait for the vibrations heard from the device.
Important
- When the machine gives Press the release button, the power should be considered as soon as possible.
- Before pressing the button should tell everyone to stay away from the victims.
- After pressing the release button, the heart should be resumed immediately.
Assessing victims and calling 1669/ambulance/rescuer
define
If the patient is found to wake up and not breathe, if unsure, pump the heart first because if left, the victim will not survive anyway.
assess the situation
procedure situation assessment
Should look around the volunteers and the victims that they are safe before entering. must be safe If it's not safe, you better call the rescue team to help. for the safety of the volunteers themselves
wake up victims
procedure Waking the Victims
1. Pat the victim on the shoulder, calling out "Wake up"
2. Observe the victim, if he does not move, does not speak, does not blink, it is deemed that he does not wake up.
ask for help
procedure ask for help
1. If the alarm does not wake up need help
2. Shouting for help from the people around you (if it is called “assistant”)
3. Have volunteers or assistants call 1669
4. Have a volunteer or helper bring an AED with you.
Important
Don't hang up until 1669 asks you to hang up, as the staff will have important questions that need to be answered by volunteers or assistants in order to avoid delays.
check for breathing
procedure examination of breathing
1. Victims who can't wake up see breathing by looking at the movements of the chest
2. If the chest moves But there is a pang of breathing.
3. Deep breathing The victim opens his mouth or moves his jaw, head, or neck to try to suck in air but does not have enough force to suck air into his lungs, or very slowly, making a sound similar to snoring.
4. Pangab is an abnormal breathing. is a symptom indicating that there is Conditions requiring immediate cardiac pumping
Things you should know
If the victim is breathing normally but does not wake up, turn the victim on his side and wait for the emergency team or ambulance to pick him up.
Laying on the victim's side helps to open the airway and prevent aspiration into the lungs.
But if breathing is stagnate, the heart should be pumped immediately.
heart pump
define
Emphasizing that the defibrillation must consist of 30 compressions and 2 rescue breaths, the chest compressions must be at least 2 inches deep, at a speed of 100 breaths per minute, each time the chest should be fully rebound.
Procedure for pumping the heart
1. Assess the situation as safe.
2. Give a gentle pat on the shoulder of the victim. and shouted to the victims
3. Shouting for help, calling. 1669 by ambulance
4. Pick up an Automatic Electrocardiogram (AED) defibrillator.
5. Check breathing.
6. Wake up, don't wake up and don't breathe. give the heart pump immediately
7. Chest compressions 30 times (2 inches deep, 100 compressions per minute) with full bounce each time.
8. Open the airway and give 2 breaths (1 second each)
9. 30 pumps, alternating 2 breaths until the automatic defibrillator arrives or rescuers, Ambulance Team 1669 arrives.
